Welcome to our Website
A view from
                the Common

Wadsley and Loxley Common is an area of managed Heathland in the North of Sheffield. It's principle use is by walkers, but it has much to offer the visitor with an interest in bird watching, geology, history, wild flowers, fungi and nature in general.

Wadsley and Loxley Commoners (WALC) is a voluntary group of mainly local people who share a great love for the common.

We welcome you to our web site and hope you enjoy your online visit to the common. Please use the links above to open other pages, containing information which we hope will be of interest.

The aims of WALC are:
to conserve the common,
to balance the pressure of visitor numbers with conservation,
to promote awareness of the common,
to encourage enjoyment of its many features.
